After leaving sixth form at Blackpool Grammar School, I became a Local Government Officer. However, some 18 years later, when I thought that my career path was settled and probably wouldn’t engage in serious academic education again, I received the Lord’s Call to Baptist Ministry.
After graduating fom Regent’s Park College in Oxford, I served in Ministry in Manchester for 9 years before being engaged (for some 18 years) at Spurgeon Baptist Church in Bletchley. During these years I was able to participate as a Governor at Leon School in the Lakes Estate and as a Councillor for Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council. After my retirement, my wife (Ann) and I relocated to Oldbrook and started to worship at Trinity Church in Fishermead where we received a warm welcome. I have since discovered that retirement from ministry is something of a misnomer!
Our eldest son Graham is married to Tracey and they have a 9 year old daughter called Charlotte. Our youngest son, Paul, is married to Sues and they have a daughter, Tabitha (now aged 4) and a son, Elliot (aged 2). And for those who are really interested, I have supported two football teams since my youth – Burnley and Blackpool!
