About Us - Vision

“Schools are really exciting places to be! Where else do you get large numbers of children or young people all together for a considerable amount of time; talking, interacting, learning, experiencing and developing? Ideas are formed, views and opinions are expressed and patterns of understanding and behaviour are probably fixed for life! Well, that’s where the Bridgebuilder Trust’s schools workers and volunteers are most days - in school - either taking assemblies or Religious Education or other lessons, supporting Christian groups that exist, or simply being around the premises offering a listening ear, advice and support.”

Vision Statement:

We aim to achieve this by…

…through a Bible-focused and professional schools ministry, reflecting the example of Jesus and the Christian way of life, and working alongside the churches of Milton Keynes.

Strategic Aims:

  • To clearly and appropriately communicate the beliefs and message of the Christian faith.
  • That Christian children, young people and teachers in schools will be supported, encouraged, resourced and discipled.
  • To encourage and equip other Christians to do the same.
  • To raise the profile and needs of the Trust amongst local Christians.

Objectives:

Through the paid schools workers and staff, the recruitment of Voluntary Schools Workers, and the input of volunteer helpers, we seek to achieve the following:

  • Provide contributions into the school curriculum by way of assemblies and lessons, as well as special projects.
  • Offer assistance with Christian groups and clubs.
  • Give pastoral support to students and staff.
  • Organise relevant and appropriate special extra-curricular activities.
  • Resource RE teachers and their departments.
  • Arrange ‘special focus weeks’ using visitors and other guests. 

The Trust has various sub-groups who oversee various areas of our work (eg. Ministry Development, Promotion and Events, Finance, Personnel) and they exist to ensure we meet our Strategic Aims.
