About Us - The Trustees

Trustees and Management
The management and development of MKBT is overseen by a group of Trustees. They work closely with the Team Leader, to determine policy and priorities for the Trust’s work.  Trustees are also involved in one or more of the sub-groups, which, with the help of volunteers, work to achieve our aims.  We have a Personnel group, Ministry Development group, a Promotion and Events group and a Finance group.

Church leaders and lay people serve as Trustees.  All have a burden for the children and young people growing up in this ‘city’, and a vision to see God honoured in Milton Keynes both now and in the future.  We are non-denominational and inclusive, drawing support from a wide range of the churches and making our activities known to all.

Meet the Trustees.

Chris Holmwood (Chair)
Trustee and Chair since January 2007, Chris is Deputy Head at Shenley Brook End Secondary School,
Milton Keynes.  He is a member of the Personnel Group and currently getting to know Bridgebuilder from the inside.

Stephen Dunham
Stephen joined Bridgebuilder as a Trustee in January 2008. He is married to Kathryn and they attend New Life Community Church in Leighton Buzzard, where they help to lead the Genesis youth group (12s-18s). Both have been passionate supporters of Bridgebuilder for several years, and Stephen is now looking forward to getting more involved with the inner workings of the trust as Secretary to the trustees and a member of the Personnel Group.

Stephen is a finance manager for a large healthcare company by day, and is also treasurer of Reach Out Projects, a Christian charity based in St Albans offering boat trips and residential opportunities for community groups.

Rev Beverley  Hollins
Beverley joined Bridgebuilder in August 2008.  She has been involved in working with children and young adults of all ages for as long as she can remember! Her current role as Deanery Development Facilitator for the Newport Deanery (the country area northeast of Milton Keynes) includes opportunities to invent new ways of working with children and young people in the area, but the highlight of her week is always her visit to Tickford Park Primary School for a weekly assembly or an occasional lesson.

Beverley and her husband Paul believe passionately that every child is as important to God as their own two daughters are to them, and so it has to be a priority to ensure that children and young people get to hear about God’s love for them. She is delighted to be joining the Bridgebuilder Trustees and to be getting involved with Ministry Development where that same passion is shared and worked out.

Rev Andy Jowitt
Andy is married to Jane, with a school age daughter.  Andy enjoys getting about on his motorbike, the outdoors, gardening and wildlife.

Andy has been a Vicar in Milton Keynes since 2000 – he is Minister of Bradwell Church and 'Evangelism Enabler' for Stantonbury Ecumenical Parish.  Previously Andy was a secondary school teacher in this country and in Uganda (through CMS) before spending two years as lay pastoral assistant and then two years at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, training for ordination.  Since then, he has served in Northampton and East London (Barking) before moving to MK.

Andy has active links with local schools through his pastoral ministry and was thrilled to learn of the good work of Bridgebuilder Trust when he came to MK.  Andy chairs the Promotion and Events Working Group.

Yvonne Lingard
Yvonne is married to Nick and they have two school age children.  They worship at Spurgeon Baptist Church in Bletchley where Yvonne is a leader with the Boys Brigade and helps lead the Amicus group (15+ years section) and also the 13+ years youth group.

Yvonne is part of the Finance Team of the Trust, which means she can be found once a week in the office doing the paperwork.  She also volunteers on the JesusQuest team who run this project in an MK school once a month.

Yvonne cares passionately about the work the Trust does in sharing the gospel with children and young people.  She enjoys being able to help in the office or at meetings doing little jobs to ensure the machine of the Trust keeps working.  The Trust’s presence in the schools is valuable – not just to the children, but also to the staff, who appreciate the help Bridgebuilder can offer them.

Angela Miller
As a member of the Scripture Union and Milton Keynes Churches Youth Commission Groups, which had the original vision for a schools work trust in Milton Keynes, Angela has been a Bridgebuilder trustee since 1991
and was Chair for twelve years.  Currently, she serves on the Ministry Development, Promotion and Events and Personnel sub-groups, committed to the realisation of the Trust’s vision statement and the support of our staff and volunteers.

Angela is married to Dave and they have brought up four children in Milton Keynes.   Angela is an ex-primary schoolteacher, now working part-time teaching French and English at Cranfield University.

David Ormerod
David has been resident in Milton Keynes since 1984 and a Bridgebuilder Trustee since 1998.  He got involved with Bridgebuilder because he is passionate about communicating the good news of the Christian faith to young people.  David believes that, although churches, youth groups etc all have a vital part to play, schools ministry is the most effective way to reach the majority who have little idea of who Jesus is, and what He can mean to them

At Bridgebuilder, David has been mainly involved with the finances and developing relationships with the many supporters, and also handling the legal side of office moves etc.  David says it has been thrilling to see how God has worked through the ministry of Bridgebuilder over the past eight years and he looks forward to seeing what God will do in the future!

David is married to Alison and they have a son and twin daughters.

Our links with Scripture Union
